hello, i'm alex.

I’m a freelance writer, aspiring journalist, and undergraduate Creative Writing major at Agnes Scott College in Decatur, Georgia.

My writing interests include creative nonfiction, journalism, memoir, music, politics, art, poetry, books, and narratives examining queerness, illness/disability, and gender and sexuality studies.

I grew up in Eau Claire, WI, moved to Redlands, CA just before high school, and am currently going through my southerner phase in the greater Atlanta area.

The talented Elizabeth Wolfe profiled me in our college magazine in 2017.

When I’m not writing, I like to read, play violin and ukulele, volunteer, be incredibly Online, and explore the nooks and crannies of the kudzu-entwined city that is Atlanta.

I am available to write for you. Email me at abrown@agnesscott.edu.

On April 27th, I was grateful and honored to be awarded the Robert Frost Award for Creative Writing by the English Department faculty at Agnes Scott.
